• You can get started by requesting a free 15-minute consultation and filling out our contact form. Once requested, we will contact you as soon as possible, typically within 3 business days, to schedule our call together. From there, depending on the services requested, you will be directed to the next steps of the onboarding process.

If you are a business organization, after our initial consult call, we will prepare a written proposal based on your stated business needs. Then we will work together on scheduling and finalizing workshops and trainings.

  • Currently Candor Counseling does not accept insurance. We are a self-pay out-of-network provider. If your insurance plan has out-of-network benefits, your psychotherapy expenses may be covered by your insurance policy. And the exact portion of coverage depends on your particular insurance plan.

It is important to find out what mental health services your insurance covers if you are seeking insurance reimbursement. Here are some important questions for your insurance company.

    1. Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?

    2. How much is my deductible and has it been met?

    3. What percentage of the session fees will be reimbursed after meeting my deductible?

    4. How many sessions per year are covered by my insurance?

    5. Do I need a referral from my primary care physician?

Candor Counseling can provide you with monthly invoices so you can submit them to your insurance company for reimbursement.

  • At Candor Counseling, we understand that life can be unpredictable, and circumstances can change. We strive to be flexible and accommodating to our clients' needs. We kindly request that if you are unable to attend a scheduled counseling session, you provide us with a minimum of 48 hours' notice.

    Candor Counseling Cancellation Policy Notes

As part of our commitment to providing optimal care for our clients, Candor Counseling has implemented a No-Show Policy to ensure fairness, maximize appointment availability, and promote effective treatment planning.

    1. We kindly request that clients notify us at least 48 hours in advance if they need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. This advanced notice allows us to offer the time slot to other clients on our waiting list.

    2. Late Cancellation: In the event of a cancellation made less than 48 hours ahead of the scheduled appointment time, the client may be subject to a late cancellation fee. This fee will be discussed during the initial intake appointment and will be outlined in the client's agreement form.

    3. No Show: A "no show" is defined as missing an appointment without providing any prior notice or contacting our office. If a client fails to attend a scheduled session and does not contact us within 24 hours to explain the absence, it will be considered a no show. Clients are subject to full session fee in the event of a no show.

    5. Extenuating Circumstances: We understand that emergencies and unforeseen circumstances may sometimes arise. In such cases, please contact us as soon as possible to explain your situation. We will handle these situations on a case-by-case basis, showing understanding and flexibility whenever appropriate.

  • Telehealth counseling, also known as online counseling or virtual therapy, is a mode of delivering mental health services through the use of technology. To engage in telehealth counseling, Candor Counseling uses a secure video conferencing platform to connect to psychotherapy clients.

  • At this time Candor Counseling is only accepting new clients requesting virtual sessions.

  • HIPAA, which stands for Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, is a vital aspect of maintaining client confidentiality in the field of counseling. As counselors, it is our ethical responsibility to ensure that the information shared by our clients is treated with utmost privacy and professionalism. HIPAA sets forth stringent guidelines and regulations to safeguard sensitive personal health information, restricting its disclosure to unauthorized individuals. Adhering to these confidentiality standards fosters trust between counselors and clients, empowering individuals to openly express their concerns and experiences in a confidential and supportive environment.

  • Telehealth counseling, also known as teletherapy or online counseling, refers to the practice of providing mental health services remotely through digital platforms and technologies. It is an innovative approach that utilizes videoconferencing, phone calls, instant messaging, and other digital tools to connect clients with qualified mental health professionals from the comfort of their own homes or any other location. One of the primary advantages of telehealth counseling is its accessibility. By eliminating the need for in-person appointments, teletherapy expands mental health care options for individuals, particularly those who live in remote areas, have limited mobility, or face transportation challenges. This convenience allows clients to access professional support without having to travel long distances or disrupt their daily routines, ultimately reducing barriers to seeking help and improving overall accessibility to care. Telehealth counseling also takes into account individuals' preferences and needs for privacy. Some clients may feel more at ease discussing sensitive or personal issues from the safety and familiarity of their own environment, which can enhance their comfort and engagement in the therapeutic process. This may be particularly beneficial for individuals who struggle with social anxiety or find it difficult to open up in face-to-face interactions. Teletherapy can provide a sense of flexibility in terms of scheduling appointments. With traditional counseling, clients often need to work around the availability of the therapist's office hours, which can be challenging for those with busy schedules or time constraints.

While teletherapy has proven to be effective for a variety of conditions, it may not be suitable for everyone. Some individuals might require in-person sessions or face-to-face interactions to address their specific mental health needs adequately. During your initial consult, we will discuss your needs in-depth to determine fit.
